Computer Engineering Program Educational Objectives

The educational objectives of the Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering program in Mindanao State University- Iligan Institute of Technology are to prepare graduates who after five years of their professional career can:

  1. Practice Computer engineering as engineers, academicians, technopreneurs, innovators, and/or researchers in their chosen field of expertise in the areas of computer and electronics systems, embedded systems, software systems, and networking technologies.
  2. Attain professional growth and advancement in their professional career.
  3. Engage in lifelong learning for continuous professional development.

Computer Engineering Program Outcomes

The following are the student outcomes of the BS Computer Engineering program of MSU-Iligan Institute of Technology. These are expected from the students by the time of their graduation.

  1. Ability to apply knowledge of mathematics, physical, life and information sciences; and engineering sciences appropriate to computer engineering.
  2. Ability to design and conduct complex experiments, as well as to analyze and interpret data.
  3. Ability to design a system, component, or process to meet desired needs within realistic constraints such as economic, environmental, social, political, ethical, health and safety, manufacturability, and sustainability, in accordance with standards.
  4. Ability to function on multidisciplinary teams.
  5. Ability to identify, formulate, and solve engineering problems
  6. Understanding of professional and ethical responsibility
  7. Ability to communicate effectively
  8. Broad education necessary to understand the impact of engineering solutions in a global, economic, environmental, and societal context
  9. Recognition of the need for, and an ability to engage in life-long learning
  10. Knowledge of contemporary issues
  11. Ability to use techniques, skills, and modern engineering tools necessary for engineering practice
  12. Knowledge and understanding of engineering and management principles as a member and leader in a team, to manage projects and in multidisciplinary environments
