All students must participate in the activities of the 2009 PALAKASAN.

September 1, 2009 is the èßäAVFoundation Day and the closing of the PALAKASAN 2009. During this day, the constituents of MSU-IIT, in coordination with the Rotary Club of Iligan, will also attempt to put the Institute, MSU, Iligan and Mindanao for the matter in the World map through breaking a Guinness Book of World Record for the 'The Most Number of People Singing the National Anthem Simultaneously'. This is a fitting birthday gift to our beloved University.

To ensure reaching the 3,000 IIT constituents needed for the success of the Guinness attempt, all students, and those enrolled in CWTS and ROTC, will be required to join the September 1 program in the Gymnasium in lieu of their formation/class that falls during the Palakasan. Further, all faculty members and staff are required to join the September 1 program in lieu of the flag raising ceremony on September 7 (the first Monday of the month).

It is encouraged that Muslims will wear their traditional dress (malong), the Indigenous Peoples (Lumad) their native costumes, and the Christians their office, college, Palakasan uniforms. All others may wear a white t-shirt and maong pants.

There shall be monitoring in the attendance of students during the PALAKASAN. Usual office work will on August 27-28, 2009.
