Memorandum To: All MSU-IIT Constituents
Subject: January 9 Reopening of Classes
Due to the destruction brought about by typhoon Sendong, the campus has been partly affected: ground-floor offices and classrooms have been flooded, and a number of campus facilities and property have been destroyed; and, for two weeks now, the Institute Gymnasium has been a refuge to more than 10,000 evacuees where some of our faculty and students have been serving as volunteers.
Aside from this, most of our faculty members, staff and students who have been victims of the flash flood need time to assess the damage to their homes and property as well as to recover psychologically from the loss of their loved ones.
In view of the above, the reopening of classes is therefore moved to January 9, 2012 to prepare the campus and its facilities to better serve MSU-IIT constituents.
