CED Amphitheater

A joint event - a lecture by Palanca winner Dr. Manu Avenido on his poetics
and creative writing process and the launch of his book “Ikigai and Other
Selected Stories”, a recipient of the 2023 National Book Development Board
Publication Grant.

The book collects 13 of his Cebuano short stories most of which have
received prestigious awards such as the Don Carlos Palanca Memorial
Awards, Gawad Bienvenido Lumbera, Sinulog Awards for Literature
(SINULAT), the BATHALAD-Mindanao, and the Jimmy Balacuit Awards of
the Iligan National Writers Workshop.

The lecture and the book are beneficial for undergraduate and graduate
students majoring in Language and Literary Studies especially those who are
into literary translation and applied linguistics.

Event is free. Registration is free.

Copies of “Ikigai Ug Ubang Piniling mga Sugilanon (And Other Selected
Stories) will be available on site for 750 Php pesos (sale price from original
price 899 Php).
