PeaceTech Inc. is a Philippine-based NGO whose mission is: 鈥渢o promote Information Communications Technology for building understanding between groups of young people.鈥�

Our organization is looking for experienced individuals, who will begin work as our field officers in August or September, 2010.

Field Officer 鈥� Mindanao (2 positions), Manila (1 position)

The successful candidate will work closely with the Program Manager.

The Mindanao positions will oversee programs in Zamboanga City, Cotabato City, and possibly Isabela City, Basilan and Iligan City.The Manila position will cover Metro Manila areas.

General Responsibilities

• Represents PeaceTech Inc. in the program areas
• Facilitates video conferences, workshops and school classes
• Organizes and coordinates Mass Video conferences, Classroom Video conferences, and workshops
• Records all program expenses
• Reports to the Program Manager

Specific Responsibilities

Event Organization and Coordination

• Represents PeaceTech Inc. in working with partner organizations, high schools, colleges, civil society, and DepED officials
• Plans and organizes at least two Mass Video conferences involving thousands of participants
• Organizes multiple Classroom Video conferences and workshops
• Monitors community projects, which are implemented by youth participants
• Liaises with suppliers and telecom companies

Facilitation

• Assists in facilitating workshops and classroom video conferences

Bookkeeping

• Keeps an accounting of all expenses
• Submits weekly financial updates to Manila office

 Qualifications Required

1. Work experience, preferably in teaching or facilitation
2. University Degree, preferably in teaching, journalism, business administration, peace education or development communication
3. Strong organizational skills and ability to work under tight deadlines
4. Punctual
5. Consultative and collaborative
6. ICT and Internet savvy

The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable about ICT; Social Entrepreneurship; and Peace Building.He/she will also be enterprising, able to think outside the 鈥渂ox鈥�, objective, and open minded towards different perspectives.
