Designations and Functions

The OVCPD originally has four office designated positions, but, at present, these four office designated positions are fused into two (2): the Planning Management and Assessment Manager and the Program Development and Information Management Officer.

The Planning Management and Assessment Manageris a designated position which is expected to do the following functions:

  • Initiates the process of planning and development of Institute activities and projects;
  • Formulates campus infrastructure plan;
  • Conducts strategic planning;
  • Promotes quarterly planner’s workshop;
  • Monitors and assesses the Institute planning and development programs;
  • Designs and develops marketing strategies for the program in the Institute;
  • Initiates the publication of the Institute Student Handbook and updates on Annual reports;
  • Provides information to colleges and departments in conjunction with accreditation self-studies, major field and general education assessment, and department program reviews;
  • Develops useful organizational and process management studies on important institutional issues;
  • Provides appropriate and timely ad hoc data information to Institute constituents; and
  • Performs other functions that the VCPD may assign to him.

While the Program Development and Information Management Officer is a designated position which is expected to do the following functions:

  • Generates revenue sources for the development projects in the campus;
  • Assists in the packaging of projects;
  • Initiates the Institute’s cultural and environmental programs;
  • Promotes Institute’s programs and concerns for the preservation and development of culture;
  • Integrates Institute Database useful for decision-making process and for institutional purposes;
  • Obtains summarized database for all offices in the campus;
  • Serves as data storage and generation;
  • Responsible for information dissemination;
  • Assists in advocacy work for the Institute;
  • Keeps external policies affecting the Institute;
  • Conducts institutional survey; and
  • Performs other functions that the VCPD may assign to him.

Similar to the practice of major offices of the Institute, the Planning and Development Office is also assisted with one transient Special Assistant (mostly, faculty) whose designated function is to do the institutional promotion and information dissemination. Inherent of this position, the Special Assistant manages to do the write-ups of the OVCPD activities and other institutional agenda (if deemed necessary).
