As part of the internationalization initiatives of the University, the Department of Physics enhances and recalibrates the quality of physics at MSU-IIT with the expertise of Prof. Tyll Krueger, Visiting Professor from the Wroclaw University of Science and Technology. Prof. Krueger started a three-day lecture on January 16, 2024, at the PRISM Building's Conference Hall.

His introductory topic revolves around epidemiology and he will continue to discuss areas on Statistical Physics, Systems Modeling, and Mathematical Modeling. The lectures were attended by both undergraduate and graduate students of the Department of Physics. Along with his scheduled lectures, Prof. Krueger will also have consultations with the students.

According to Prof. Jingle B. Magallanes, Chairperson of the Physics Department, while the lecture’s objective was more toward graduate students, undergraduate students were invited to participate as well to encourage and entice them to pursue the fields of Theoretical Physics and Mathematical Physics.

Prof. Krueger is the third visiting professor to collaborate with the Department of Physics since the start of the academic year. Professor Wrinkler from the Institute for Advanced Simulation, Forschungszentrum Jülich, and Lehrstuhl für Theoretische Physik, RWTH Aachen University, Germany, who arrived earlier this month was also on campus discussing active matters, soft matters, hydrodynamics, and mesoscale simulations. Moreover, Prof. René Luna-García from the National Polytechnic Institute, Mexico has already been teaching courses such as Mathematical Physics, and Quantum Field Theory at MSU-IIT since last year.

According to Prof. Magallanes, the Physics Department plans to initiate other collaborations and more academic exchanges with the said partner universities.
