MSU-IIT lends technical assistance to NRC鈥檚 鈥淎dopt-a-City鈥� Program: Facilitating Data Consolidation Phase

In the pursuit of building a disaster-resilient Iligan City, MSU-IIT was invited by the National Resilience Council (NRC) for a two-day program to help consolidate the baseline data for Iligan City’s Resilient Local Government Systems Scorecard, held on  February 15-16, 2024, at Sweet Mommy’s, Del Carmen in Iligan City. A reorientation session was conducted to discuss MSU-IIT’s role as an academic partner a day before the commencement of such an initiative. 

The University’s participation in the said activity is part of its involvement in the “Adopt-a-City” Program, a three-year project that seeks to foster a disaster-resilient city. This promotes close collaboration between businesses, local government units, academic institutions, and civil society organizations (CSOs). 

A cohort of MSU-IIT faculty and staff extended their technical assistance to the project. Representatives from the Institute for Policy Innovation and Leadership (IPIL) include Asst. Prof. John Gieveson Iglupas, MPA, Head of Policy Center for Governance, Public Leadership and Management; Prof. Maria Pia Sison, DiSDS, Head of the Policy Center for Human Rights and Sustainable Development; and Ms. Bainorah Amate, MPA, Head of IPIL’s Executive Education Unit.
