Feb 28 2024

During the Technical Planning Conference of the City Mayor’s Office and Iligan City Waterworks System (ICWS) on February 21, 2024, a team of Computer Science students from the College of Computer Studies of the Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology showcased a web application for ICWS.

Under the guidance of Asst. Prof. Malikey M. Maulana and Asst. Prof. Jennifer Joyce M. Montemayor, Kenneth Kyle Taer, Carl Christian Tilid, John Robert Mamauag, and Mary Angeline Sevilla presented a digital platform designed to improve the efficiency and transparency of water service management in the city. This endeavor is also part of a University-approved extension project under Special Order 00547-IIT Series of 2023, entitled "Iligan City Water Data Analysis and Development of a Web Information System for the Iligan City Waterworks System.”

The ICWS web application provides users with a comprehensive set of features that enables them to easily access essential services. Users can inquire about bills, file complaints, track their progress, and stay informed with advisory lists. Additionally, this platform serves as a centralized hub for administrators, streamlining complaint management, facilitating dissemination of updates, and ensuring operational oversight.

As the meeting concluded, attendees expressed optimism for the future, acknowledging the transformative potential of the ICWS website in driving efficiency and accountability. This extension project represents a collective commitment to excellence and progress, setting the standard for state-of-the-art solutions in water management.

Through continuous collaboration and innovation among stakeholders, ICWS in partnership with MSU-IIT, can further enhance services to effectively address the evolving needs of the community, thereby fostering sustainable development and safeguarding the well-being of the residents of Iligan City.
