DMRET dominates in Intl Conferences on MSE; Bernardo-Arugay receives Best Oral Presenter Award

Bringing the MSU-IIT banner to a co-located international conference—the 3rd International Conference on Materials Science and Engineering (MSE) in the Philippines 2024 (ICMSEP 2024), the 2024 International Conference on Microscopy and Microanalysis (ICMM 2024), the AUN-SEED-Net Regional Conference on Materials Engineering 2024 (RCME 2024), and the Regional Conference on Mining, Metallurgical, and Materials Engineering (RCMMME 2024)—the Department of Materials and Resources Engineering and Technology (DMRET) from the College of Engineering showcased their diverse range of research works from October 28 to 31, 2024, in Tagaytay City, Philippines.

Representing the largest delegation from outside Luzon, the DMRET further dominated the scene with the achievement of Dr. Ivyleen C. Bernardo-Arugay, a faculty member of the Ceramic Engineering Program, for having been awarded as the Best Oral Presenter Award for Parallel Session 1: Materials Characterization and Mineralogy at the ICMSEP 2024.

Organized by the Institute of Materials Engineers of the Philippines (IMEP), Inc., in partnership with the Philippine Association of Microscopists, Inc. (MICROSPHIL) and the University of the Philippines Department of Mining, Metallurgical, and Materials Engineering (UPD-DMMME), the conferences aimed to explore the latest advancements in materials science, foster networking with industry experts, and support the global progress of materials engineering.
