The women in Digkilaan, the entrepreneurs behind the crochet products at MSU-IIT Langkit University Shop, visited MSU-IIT and took part in the enhancement training under the Social Enterprise Development Project (SEDP), an extension project aimed at refining their skills and expanding their business potential on March 19, 2025.
In partnership with the We Care Office, Negosyo Center, and MSU-IIT NMPC, the event commenced with a short meeting of the beneficiaries, under the Social Enterprise Development Project, with Asst. Prof. Earvin John Medina presiding over as one of the project members. He updated the beneficiaries regarding the DTI registration and BMBE Certification under the ‘SEWD Crocheting Services’ name. He also discussed plans for product delivery as the mother project nears its conclusion on May 30, 2025.
The trainers–Ms. Shakira Rica Falcon and Ms. Kate Jane Pendang introduced new crochet techniques, guiding the women in crafting keychains and wallets. Participants eagerly honed their skills, broadening their product range to boost their enterprise.
The training concluded with an awarding ceremony, recognizing the dedication of beneficiaries, trainers, and facilitators. The initiative not only strengthened their craftsmanship but also reinforced their commitment to sustaining SEWD Crocheting Services.
