Today, April 7, 2025, MSU-IIT opened its Student Services Hub, designed to enhance the student experience by providing student-related services more efficiently and accessible to the student body.
Through a ribbon-cutting ceremony led by Chancellor Alizedney M. Ditucalan, Vice Chancellor for Student Services Prof. Rohane Derogongan, Vice Chancellor for Administration and Finance, Atty. Yaslani Bantuas and Vice Chancellor for Public Affairs Prof. Nancy Echavez, the hub officially opened its doors and is set to house key student support offices, including the Office of Student Development Services (OSDS), the Office of Guidance and Counseling (OGC), the Center for Learning and Academic Support Services (CLASS), and the Career Center.
The newly renovated building, which was formerly the University’s Hostel, will centralize and streamline student-related services and processes. It is also designed to effectively deliver services such as processing student permits, providing guidance and counseling, coordinating student activities, and offering academic support for students.
In his message, Chancellor Ditucalan described the hub as a “one-stop shop for students”, a central, go-to office where students have a single-access location to essential services and resources. He further emphasized the student hub’s potential to optimize collaboration and staff assignment once the offices work together in one vicinity.
Meanwhile, Prof. Derogongan extended her gratitude for the completion of the hub and saw this centralized building as a way to provide more for the students.
Also present at the inauguration were Asst. Prof. Phyllis Marie Teanco, OSDS Director, Engr. Rodelito Dela Cruz, Prof. Monera Salic-Hairulla, CED Dean, Prof. Marie Joy Banawa, CASS Dean, Assoc. Prof. Rabby Lavilles, CCS Dean, Prof. Maria Rizalia Teves, CEBA Dean, Prof. Amelia Buan, IDS Principal, and some faculty and staff members.
A tour around the newly renovated building occurred after the ribbon-cutting ceremony.
