In a remarkable display of skills and power in the volleyball field, the MSU-IIT Cats successfully clawed their way to victory over the undefeated MSU-Marawi Royals, who had earned a twice-to-beat advantage during the Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF) U21 National Volleyball Championship (Provincial Finals - Lanao del Norte) on October 19, 2024.
The PNVF U21 National Volleyball Championship is a tournament that brings together volleyball teams nationwide to develop volleyball at the grassroots level. The Lanao del Norte Provincial Finals had 10 competing teams and MSU-IIT CATS kicked off their journey with a commanding 2:0 victory over the SMC Archangels. Riding on this momentum, they went on to defeat the IMCC Rhinos in straight sets (2:0) before encountering their first loss to the ICNHS Lions, resulting in a second-place finish in Pool B at the Kiwalan Gym.
Unfazed by their earlier defeat, the MSU-IIT Cats regrouped at the Diega Quidlat Gym in Sta. Felomina. Despite facing the formidable MSU-Marawi Royals, who entered the match with an advantage, the MSU-IIT Cats showcased exceptional teamwork and resilience, ultimately sweeping the MSU-Marawi Royals 4:0 to secure their spot in the Regional Finals.
