Assistant Professor Nestor T. Cuevas of the Department of Physical Education (DPE)-College of Education (CED) introduced the VolleyBounce game during a seminar-workshop held at the Capitol University (CU) in Cagayan de Oro City on March 14, 2025.

VolleyBounce is an innovative and unique game developed by Cuevas. It shares similarities with volleyball but incorporates creative, fast-paced elements of bouncing games. The game was first introduced to students at the Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology (MSU-IIT) with the aim of improving physical fitness and fostering camaraderie.

Themed “Get Ready to Bounce, Set, and Spike,” the seminar-workshop was attended by 204 CU students, who had the chance to play VolleyBounce firsthand.

“VolleyBounce was created to provide physical education classes with a wonderful and creative way of playing ball games,” said Cuevas. “I hope that this game will also be introduced to other schools so they can experience the fun and excitement it offers.”

During the event, Cuevas explained that VolleyBounce was designed to make participation in physical activity enjoyable and accessible for everyone. The seminar-workshop was a huge success, with CU students appreciating the game’s dynamics and creativity. Physical education teachers and students alike expressed their eagerness to incorporate VolleyBounce into their PE classes, mentioning how the game made them feel thrilled and determined.

Cuevas is known for his passion and commitment to game innovation in the University. His dedication ensures that he will continue to shape the future of sports and fitness education at MSU-IIT.
