MSU-IIT constituents welcomed the month in their ASEAN-inspired outfits incorporated with a purple motif ensemble to show their commitment to amplifying women’s rights at this Women’s Month Celebration, during the flag-raising ceremony today, March 3, 2025.
This year’s National Women’s Month Celebration (NWMC) focuses on the theme, “Babae sa Lahat ng Sektor, Aangat ang Bukas sa Bagong Pilipinas,” highlighting the significance of the Magna Carta of Women to continue protecting and securing the rights of women across all sectors, especially those who are underprivileged.
Chancellor Alizedney M. Ditucalan mirrored this celebration with the ongoing holy Ramadan, saying that while these two are distinct events, they replicate the spirit of reflection, empowerment, and collective progress.
“The NWMC reminds us that progress must not only be imagined but felt, lived, and sustained by all of us. It is a call to ensure that no one is left behind… while we have made strides, there is still much work to be done to ensure that these rights are fully realized,” the Chancellor said in his speech during the ceremony.
The Chancellor further paralleled his message for Women’s Month with the teachings of Ramadan, ”Just as Ramadan encourages us to uplift those in need, let us also commit to uplifting the women in our community, ensuring that their voices are heard, their rights are protected, and their contributions are celebrated.”
More than just a celebration of women’s contributions, this month serves as a heavy reminder of the gaps that still need to be filled to attain an equitable and inclusive society for all. The has prepared a series of activities that are set to empower, educate, and inspire action toward gender equality which can be viewed by accessing their official Facebook page.
